2015 TASH Conference has ended
This year’s theme, “Celebrating 40 Years of Progressive Leadership,” acknowledges TASH’s 40 years of generating change within the disability community and anticipates a brighter, more inclusive future for people with disabilities in all aspects of life. Each year, the TASH Conference impacts the disability field by connecting attendees to innovative information and resources, facilitating connections between stakeholders within the disability movement, and helping attendees reignite their passion for an inclusive world.

Co-Teaching and Collaborative Inclusive Practices in New York City classrooms LIMITED

This session will support school-based teams to collaborate with their own school staff to meet the needs of ALL students to strengthen their communication and collaboration by reviewing the 6 components of a well-run, inclusive classroom. Participants will b asked to reflect on their own leadership and existing partnerships and the professional goals they intend to reach. The strategies are classroom-based, student centered and easy to replicate. Strategies were created with Elementary, Middle and High School teachers and administrators as Inclusive Practices and Co-teaching models are used to teach diverse learners. OBJECTIVES: 1.The importance and meaning of the six Components of Co-teaching 2. How to Collaborate and Communicate as a Team 3. Various planning tools and strategies for implementing each of the Models 4. How to create an inclusive, differentiated lesson-plan that provides access for the whole classroom of diverse learners
