Accessibility By Design: The Dynamic Learning Maps Alternate Assessment System LIMITED

This session will describe accessibility features in the Dynamic Learning Maps (DLM?) alternate assessment system. The session will begin with an overview of the DLM system and then review how the technology features, specially designed content, and the Personal Learning Profile are used to personalize the testing experience for students with significant cognitive disabilities. The session will also provide details regarding resources that are available for educators and parents of students with significant cognitive disabilities to support instruction, improve communication, and ultimately improve performance on the DLM alternate assessment. OBJECTIVES: 1. Describe the key features of the DLM alternate assessment system. 2. Identify two resources that support instruction in ELA and Mathematics that is aligned with the DLM alternate assessment. 3. Describe the role of the importance of the Personal Learning Profile in the delivery of an appropriate assessment to each student.
