This year’s theme, “Celebrating 40 Years of Progressive Leadership,” acknowledges TASH’s 40 years of generating change within the disability community and anticipates a brighter, more inclusive future for people with disabilities in all aspects of life. Each year, the TASH Conference impacts the disability field by connecting attendees to innovative information and resources, facilitating connections between stakeholders within the disability movement, and helping attendees reignite their passion for an inclusive world.

<p> As part of TASH's 40th Anniversary, TASH authorized that a book commemorating this event be written. This presentation will overview the book and discuss the major decisions, actions, and policies that have shaped TASH and allowed it to have a major impact on disability-related policy and practice and social opinions and attitudes about the rights and equality of people with disabilities. The book includes contributions from TASH founders, reflections of parents and self-advocates, researchers, attorneys, educators, and other stakeholders. The book also celebrates the achievements of TASH champions, heroes, and leaders who have passed away.<p/> <p> OBJECTIVES: 1. Learn about TASH's history and its impact on educational policy, life-span services, and social policy. 2. Learn who have been TASH's leaders and champions. 3. Learn about TASH's legal challenges and victories. 4. Gain insight about TASH from parents, self-advocates, researchers, and other stakeholders. 5. Learn about TASH's future goals. <p/>
