This presentation seeks to examine how schools have developed systematic pedagogy for teaching students with diverse needs and abilities in the general education classroom. It is the presenter's position that these difference approaches to curriculum and instruction fundamentally shape inclusive design and practice. OBJECTIVES: By the end of this presentation participants will be able to: A. Understand various historical approaches to instruction for diverse learners. B. Understand how differentiated instruction promotes inclusive environments.
