This year’s theme, “Celebrating 40 Years of Progressive Leadership,” acknowledges TASH’s 40 years of generating change within the disability community and anticipates a brighter, more inclusive future for people with disabilities in all aspects of life. Each year, the TASH Conference impacts the disability field by connecting attendees to innovative information and resources, facilitating connections between stakeholders within the disability movement, and helping attendees reignite their passion for an inclusive world.

CBI Consultants will demonstrate how PBS and Self-Determination can help reduce challenging behavior's and increase an individual?s quality of life .We will show a number of Self Directed Life Plan?s (S.D.L.P.) and demonstrate how it increases successful transition to employment and positively impacts all other life domains. We will also showcase our successful outcomes in delivering Self-Determination instruction from a number of pilot projects using innovative approaches and universal design techniques. Students who have self-determination skills have a stronger chance of being successful in making the transition to adulthood, including employment and independence (Wehmeyer &Schwartz, 1997). OBJECTIVES: A) understand how Self-Determination and PBS instruction work together to increase an individual?s quality of life B) recognize new ways to incorporate Self-Determination instruction in everyday activities and events. C)establish a link between PBS, Self-Determination and inclusive employment and lives in the community D)understand the practical applications of Self-Determination instruction that extends real work for real pay to full inclusion in all life domains (Self-Directed Life Plans) .
